For a long time, Up Cannabis’ state-of-the-art greenhouse facility in Beamsville, Ontario, grew orchids—not cannabis. While the crop has changed, the commitment to growing outstanding plants remains. Up Cannabis’ Niagara Facility, otherwise known as The Great Emerald Hall, currently operates in a 200,000 square foot structure that employs cutting edge “Dutch Tray” technology, a robotics system that ensures maximum efficiency by allowing handlers to effectively call plants to them, instead of the other way around. In as large a facility as it is, the technology saves hundreds of hours every year and keeps us on pace to produce top quality product. The Great Emerald Hall is currently undergoing a massive retrofit and expansion that will ultimately see it cover a total of 400,000 square feet, including areas for processing and packaging.
